IC Cards in Tokushima

Tokushima City Transportation Bureau, in collaboration with Tokushima Bus Company and Tokushima Bus Nanbu (South) Company has decided to implement the usage of the rechargeable public transportation “IC Cards” in Tokushima.
Which would mean, you would be able to use ICOCA and 9 other kinds of IC cards in Tokushima and all over the country. Let’s take a step towards going cashless!

By using Apple pay or ICOCA app on your phones, you don't have to buy the physical IC Card.

• All routes run by Tokushima City Bus and Tokushima Bus Company (excluding Highway buses)
• Nyudani routes run by Tokushima Bus Nanbu

• Tokushima Bus Company, Head Office (徳島バス本社）
• Tokushima Tourism Bus Service, Ticket center (徳バス観光サービス　駅前チケットセンター）
• Tokushima City Transportation Bureau, Bandai Office (徳島市交通局万代営業所)

There are also other places outside Tokushima City such as Tokushima Bus, Naruto Office or Tokushima Bus, Kamojima Office etc., from where you can purchase and recharge.

1000 yen, 2000yen, 5000 yen or 10000 yen (Cash (notes) only).

• At the counter where you purchase your card.
• In compatible convinience stores or supermarkets
• While inside the bus (excluding vehicles that come under Tokushima City Transportation Bureau):

1. Inform the driver about the amount you wish to recharge (can only use 1000 yen notes).
2. Tap your ICOCA card on the IC card reader places at the exit end of the bus.
3. Insert 1000 yen notes one by one.
4. Tap on the reader again after inserting the desired amount.
5. Charge complete!
