Child Allowance (Jido Teate)
This program provides parents with allowances to take care of their children residing in Japan.
About the Program:
1. Requirements
- The child must be currently residing in Japan.
- The mother or father who is taking care of the child and who consistently earns more income will be the official applicant. The applicant must be a registered resident of Tokushima City.
- Which parent has the higher income is decided by the taxable income from the residence tax of the previous year. If applying for the allowance between January and May, then the higher earning parent is determined based on the income from two years before.
2. Monthly Allowance Amount
Allowance will be paid starting the month following the submission of the application wherever possible.

4. How to apply
Please fill out an application form for authentication (Nintei Seikyu-sho) at the Counter for Mothers & Children on the 1F or at the Child Raising Support Division on the 3F of City Hall.
5. Requirements
Residence card (Zairyu Card), bank book for a savings account with the applicant’s name, health insurance card of the applicant, etc.
6. Others
If the child receiving the allowance no longer lives in Japan, please declare this information immediately to the Child-Raising Support Division (Kosodate Shien-ka).
