Tokushima City Markets

This market occurs in the Shinmachi Boardwalk area on the last Sunday of each month. About 80 white parasol stalls are set up in the market with sellers prepared to sell their hand-selected goods. As there are several specialty items available, people come from all around (including far places), and home- and professional chefs alike come in search of quality ingredients. The most wonderful part of the Marche, however, is the chance to sample many goods and talk with the various vendors. We encourage you to take in the atmosphere of the market while you search for any products that catch your eyes.

Location: 1-chome, Higashisenba-cho, Tokushima City

Date and time: Last Sunday of each month, 9:00-15:00.

This market is held on the 3rd Sunday of each month at the Shinmachi Riverside Park and is run by local students. Customers can shop at vendors and cafes for local produce, food products, baked goods, and more while enjoying live music and raffles, making this a market that both children and adults alike can enjoy. Since there are several different local vendors present at this market, we encourage you to come and look around for something you like.

Date and time: 3rd Sunday of each month, 10:00-15:00. (In July, August, and September, a nighttime market is also held the Saturday before from 17:00-21:00.)

Held every Sunday at the Tokushima Textile Wholesale Complex, this Sunday market is the biggest in all of Tokushima. From early morning to mid-afternoon, you can find street foods (such as cabbage pancakes, yakitori, and chirashi-zushi) and drinks, daily goods, antiques, bonsai, fish, and more in addition to local produce and crafts. The market happens even on rainy days, and there is a parking lot available, so this is a perfect way to spend a weekend day with the whole family. We encourage you to take the time to browse the vendors and discover some great bargains.
